The longer I live the more discipline it takes
Istood peering down at the scales, as we’ve all done on many occasions.
For me to get on a scale and not feel any pressure is impossible. I remember standing up at the front of many rooms with athletic commissioners, fighters, and fans watching closely to see if I made the weight.
Making the weight didn’t become a problem until I got a little older or maybe a little slack in my training. That’s another tale for another day. It could’ve been both.
Today though, I stood on them just five weeks after cutting soft drinks, fried food, and sugar from my eating habits.
The result…
10 pounds less than five weeks ago. Now I’ve been working out regularly, but not any more than usual. I just changed my diet.
It hit me as I stood there a little surprised, the older I get the more discipline it takes to live clean and get positive results. In a world where every time you try to grab a bite to eat someone is trying to push a super size on you or bring you a gallon of sweet tea. It’s hard to say NO.
My short five week journey thus far doesn’t prove anything special. It just proves that I control my weight just like I control every other area of my life, from my relationships to my fitness, with my decisions.
Those decisions are governed by the level of discomfort I allow in my life.
Those extra 10 pounds that were hanging around weren’t needed. They were baggage just slowing me up. Now I can decide about every 3 to 5 hours if I’m gonna keep them off or put them back on, by controlling my eating.
Take control of some area of your life today by making a decision and sticking with it.
It may be something as simple reading 20 minutes a day or even stretching 15 minutes a day. You knew I couldn’t leave that one out. Splitsin90days can guide you down the path so there’s NO guess work in improving range of motion and flexibility.
Whatever you choose to change today…nothing takes the place of a well thought out plan combined with tenacious stickability!
Keep Kicking and God Bless!
